The number of new Covid cases in Pulaski County has fallen for the third week in a row–from a weekly high of 267 cases the last week in July to 127 new cases for the week of August 16th and 22nd. This represents more than a 50 percent drop in new cases over the three-week period. So far, there have been 434 total new cases in August. The latest statistics released by the Pulaski County Health Department reveal there have been 14 deaths due to Covid since July 1st. 50.5 percent of the county’s population has received the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. 41.3 percent have received both doses. This is a slight improvement over last week’s figures. The Pulaski County Health Department began administering the booster dose for people with weakened or impaired immune systems earlier this week. As of Wednesday, 77 people had received the third, booster dose.
