The Missouri Department of Public Safety has approved 70 grants that totaled $5 million to first-responder agencies. According to a press release from Governor Mike Parson’s office Wednesday, law enforcement, fire service, and EMS providers in “class three” counties applied for funds available through the American Rescue Plan Act. Grant-funded equipment includes patrol vehicles, mobile data terminals, body cameras, firefighter turnout gear, extrication equipment, ambulances, cardiac monitors, pediatric resuscitation devices, and emergency communications radios. Entities receiving money in our area include $98,311.90 to the Dixon Ambulance District, $43,586.64 to the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, and $27,909.05 to the City of Rolla Fire and Rescue.
