Anyone who filed their taxes and received a refund after April 15th and before July 15th should be receiving an interest payment from the IRS. According to Michael Devine with the IRS, the deadline to file 2019 taxes was extended to July 15th due to the disaster related to the Covid 19 pandemic, and that triggered a long standing rule…..

He said the average interest payment will be around $18, but again this is for those who filed their taxes after April 15th, and were supposed to get a refund. Around 13.9-million individual taxpayers could receive the interest payment.  The interest payment you receive has to be reported on your next tax return.
