The Greenwood Trio will be performing live in Rolla this Friday as a part of the Ozark Actors Theatre Downstage Concert series. The Downstage Concert series is sponsored by Modern Guitar Studio and includes a series of live musical performances featuring regional musicians and bands. The series kicked off on September 15th. A performance is planned for September 29th featuring Pseudo Blues. Concerts in the series start will start at 7:30 pm and will be held at the home of Ozark Actors Theatre at 701 N. Cedar Street in Rolla. The audience is in for a treat with the St. Louis-based Greenwood Trio. The group features Alyssa Avery on violin, Ranya Iqbal on cello, and John Bolduan on guitar. Drawing on folk music from around the world, the trio takes a modern approach to traditional music, adding touches of blues and jazz while staying true to the styles they perform. From Appalachia to Norway, they give new life to folk traditions, making it accessible to a wide audience.
Tickets are being sold for $15.00 for each concert in the series and are available for purchase at www.OzarkActorsTheatre.org. Tickets will also be sold at the theatre box office the night of the concert.
