The Good And Bad Of A.I. In Education

A new school year is upon us and teachers are dealing with artificial intelligence being used as a tool as well as a weapon. Artificial intelligence, otherwise known as AI, can allow students to cheat on school work but it can also be used as a study partner or coach. Melissa Randol, with the Missouri School Boards’ Association, says schools will have to find ways to ensure that students have actually completed the work, instead of a machine.

Randol says AI systems, like ChatGPT, are not perfect, but they learn and continually improve.
