The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will have a blood drive at Phelps Health in Rolla this Wednesday

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will have a blood drive at Phelps Health in Rolla this Wednesday, December 28th and at the First Baptist Church in Rolla Thursday, December 29th. Donors who give blood will receive a long-sleeve T-shirt and a chance to win one of four one-thousand-dollar gas gift cards. All donors will automatically be entered into a weekly drawing. Community Blood Center of the Ozarks donors provides all the blood for patients at Phelps Health, Salem Memorial District Hospital, Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, as well as over 40 other healthcare facilities across the Ozarks. Rolla area residents will have the opportunity to donate Wednesday from 10:30 a-m to 4:30 p-m in Dining Room 2 at Phelps Health, 1000 W. 10th in Rolla, and Thursday from 10 a-m to 4 p-m in the Ministry Center at First Baptist Church at 801 North Cedar Street in Rolla. CBCO Media Relations Representative Michelle Teter says, “People get focused on the holiday activities and other charitable donations but the great thing about giving blood is that it provides the most valuable gift of all to those in need and doesn’t take away from any other charitable giving. While most of us are enjoying family get-togethers and holiday activities, take time to remember those who aren’t as fortunate and are spending the holidays in a hospital battling cancer, recovering from a trauma, or receiving a blood transfusion for an ongoing health issue by making a blood donation.” To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 417-227-5006.
