The city of Waynesville has a new Mayor

The city of Waynesville has a new mayor. Former Mayor Pro Tem Sean Wilson accepted the new role at the last meeting of the Waynesville city council. He will complete the unexpired term of former mayor Jerry Brown, who was removed from office early in February. Wilson’s term as mayor will expire in April 2024. Mayor Wilson’s former spot on the city council is now vacant. Wilson says he is already reviewing candidates for the position.

Filling the seat, however, will have to wait until the current election cycle finishes next month.
