The application period for black bear hunting permits in Missouri is set to expire at the end of the month

The application period for black bear hunting permits in Missouri is set to expire at the end of the month. Applications are due by May 31, but there are several restrictions to consider when applying for a black bear hunting permit. You must be a Missouri resident to apply, and pay the nonrefundable $10 cost when submitting your application. You must also apply for a specific Black Bear Management Zone. Only one application may be submitted per year. Only one hunter is allowed per application. Permits are allocated through a random drawing. If selected, you cannot transfer or give your permit to another hunter. If you won’t be able to hunt, you are asked to not apply. At least 10 percent of the available bear hunting permits will be awarded to Missouri resident landowners who have a qualifying property in the specific Black Bear Management Zone for which they are applying.
