The annual Fort Leonard Wood Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby will be taking place Saturday, February 26th, from 10 a-m to 6 p-m, at Stone Mill Spring. Registration will begin on-site at 9 a-m and continue throughout the day. The event is free and open to the public. Adults must accompany children, ages 15 and under. Social distancing will be required. Free hotdogs and drinks will be provided. Prizes will be given to children who catch tagged trout. Personnel from Natural Resources will be present from 9 a-m to 5 p-m. If tagged trout are caught after 5 p-m, contact the NRB office at 573-596-7604 to receive a prize. Stone Mill Spring is located off FLW Route 26. No transportation will be provided. Plan to walk four-tenths to one and a half miles from the parking area to the fishing area.
