The 27th annual Route 66 Summerfest will be taking place this Friday and Saturday in Rolla

The 27th annual Route 66 Summerfest will be taking place this Friday and Saturday in Rolla. Cruises of Classic Cars, Custom Cars, and Motorcycles will gather at the St. James Veterans Home Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock. The Food Court will open in downtown Rolla…and from 4:30 to 8 p-m, music will be performed in the Food Court by “Trilogy,” an acoustic class rock band. At 6 p-m, the Cruisers in St. James will travel to Rolla on Route 66 and should arrive at Rolla at 6:30, at which time the Miss Route 66 Scholarship Pageant should begin. A drummers competition will take place Friday night at 8:30. There will be a movie under the stars at 9 o’clock. Saturday will be a busy day with the Tour de Phelps Leisurely Bike Ride starting bright and early at 8 o clock. Arts, crafts, and food vendors will be open in downtown Rolla from 9 a-m to 5 p-m, and there will be kids’ activities and pony rides. There will be rock wall climbing from nine to nine Saturday, paddle boats, and train rides. A motorcycle show starts at ten o’clock on Pine Street. Kids tricycle and bicycle will take place at 11:30 under the 10th Street Bridge. A Crazy Funny Dog Show will be held at noon, music in the food court from 10 a-m to 3 p-m in the food court, a motorcycle poker run at 1:30, a burnout contest with no open wheel wells at 5 o’clock. A free street dance will follow at 7:30. Christiana Ball will perform from 8 to 11 o’clock.
