The 2023 Army Emergy Relief donation campaign on Fort Leonard Wood has exceeded both its own and the Army’s goals

The 2023 Army Emergy Relief donation campaign on Fort Leonard Wood has exceeded both its own and the Army’s goals, finishing in the top spot across the Army for medium-sized installations. A total of $297,775 was raised by 65 percent of the Fort Leonard Wood population. This places Fort Leonard Wood at number one in the Army for the greatest number of soldiers donating, the highest percentage of soldiers donating, the highest dollar amount raised, and the highest-average soldier donation. Earlier this year, the Army set a goal to see at least 25 percent of soldiers donate to the AER campaign, which is run each year to fund the Army’s official nonprofit. AER financially assists soldiers in need with interest-free loans and grants and has provided about $2 billion to around 4 million soldiers and their families since 1942. Fort Leonard Wood had set its own goal of seeing 50 percent of the population donate to the campaign. It was also number one in the Army in 2022, and number one in the Army in 2021 for medium-sized installations.
