Texas County Sexual Assault

A Texas County man is in Jail after being charged with sexual assault. On April 15th, 2023 Texas County Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Highway B in Raymondville for a report of sexual assault. A 19-year-old victim was reportedly sexually assaulted by Ray Rogers. The victim reported awaking to Rogers  while Rogers was covering his mouth with his hand, and the victim was having trouble breathing. Deputies tracked down Rogers at a different residence and transported him to the sheriff’s office. In an interview, Rogers committed to touching the victim but also said he thought the 19-year-old wanted to do something. Rogers is already on the Missouri sex offenders registry as a result of a conviction in the state of Arkansas, and Rogers also pled guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in Texas County in March of 2023. Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens charged 42-year-old Ray S. Rogers with  success of 1st-degree sodomy. Roger is currently incarcerated in the Texas County Jail pending a 750,000 bond.
