Suspect in 37 year old murder case bound over to Circuit Court
A Louisiana man charged in the 1984 murder of Camdenton resident Diane Lukosius, will be in court on February 9th. 79-year-old Larry Gene Hicks was arrested in May 2021 following a cold case investigation by the Camden County Sheriff’s Office. Hicks is accused of severely beating the victim and leaving her in a ditch on Lake Road 5-84. Lukosius was found by a woman who took her to the home of a Water Patrol Officer in Camelot Estates on December 15th 1984, and she was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Lukosius who had severe injuries to her head died on January 17th. While Hicks was considered a person of interest in the murder in 1989, he wasn’t arrested until May 2021, when he was brought back to Missouri from Louisiana, and charged with Murder. Hicks was bound over to Camden County Circuit Court following a hearing this Monday(1/24/22).
