Suspect arrested in Maries County truck theft

On August 18th Deputies with the Maries County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen 2003 Chevrolet Silverado from the Dixon area.
On Thursday,(yesterday) the Sheriff’s Office received information that the stolen truck was located at an address off Route C in Brumley. Deputies responded to the area and located the stolen truck, along with a suspect identified as Brent Whittle. The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to the victim. A subsequent search warrant was conducted on Whittle’s residence in Brumley, where additional items from the stolen truck were located. Whittle has been charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree a Class D Felony and Forgery a Class D Felony. Whittle posted a $100,000 bond and has been released.
