Suspect Arrested After a Cold Case 2001 Murder Investigation in Miller County
A cold case investigation into a 19-year-old murder in Miller County resulted in the arrest of a suspect on Monday. Miller County Sheriff Louie Gregoire says 53-year-old Tabatha Carter was arrested in Oklahoma on outstanding Morgan County warrants. Carter is being held without bond in the Miller County Jail in Tuscumbia on charges of accessory to first-degree murder and accessory armed criminal action. Those charges are related to the July 23rd, 2001 death of Jerry Jeffries in the parking lot at Mill Creek Lounge in Brumley. An examination of the body revealed that Jeffries had died as the result of a gunshot wound.
