Supply chain issues impact municipalities

Purchasing vehicles for the City of Lebanon is becoming a bit of a challenge due to supply chain issues. On Monday night, Lebanon City Administrator Mike Schumacher asked City Council to allow them to order vehicles with a price no great than, rather than a specific price bid to allow staff to move forward more quickly..

According to Schumacher the wait time for new vehicles is now more than a year, which has put them behind when replacing vehicles. He said he hopes by using the temporary purchase procedure the City will be able to get replacement vehicles in a more timely fashion, therefore reducing repair costs. One specific area that Schumacher said there is an issue relates to the purchase of trucks.
