Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District Sells Land

The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District finalized a land sale, selling a portion of their property on State Road TT in Sunrise Beach, to the Lake West Ambulance District. The property sold is a half-acre tract that is currently open field on the west side of Station #2 at 190 State Road TT. For many years, the field held billboards under a previous land use agreement. In 2020, the District did not re-sign the land use agreement and had the signs removed under the provision of the contract. Fire Chief Joseph R. LePlant explains how this will help the community.

Leplant also explains how the ambulance is a welcome addition to an area that needs it.

Lake West covered all expenses in the sale including surveying and closing fees. The agreed-upon price of the parcel was $20,000.00. The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District will use these funds for additional capital improvements.
