Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District gets New Vehicle
Last Saturday the Sunrise Beach Board of Directors held an emergency meeting to vote on a new bid for a vehicle for the Fire Protection District. The Board of Directors voted 4-1 to approve the purchase and make a bid for two vehicles to add to the district’s fleet. The first vehicle is a 2015 Stanley Marine Fireboat and it comes with multiple features. The other vehicle was a brush truck, but unfortunately, they were not the high bidder on that vehicle. The boat was purchased used from the Sculleville Fire Protection District located in New Jersey and purchased for 175,000 dollars. Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District Fire Chief Joseph LaPlant says they have been looking for a boat for a while.
Chief LaPlant says the district did get some skid units off the brush truck.
Chief LaPlant would like to thank the Sculleville Fire Protection District and the Sunrise Beach Board of Directors for helping out with the boat. He says it is going to be a huge asset to the lake for the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District.
