Street planning for Lake Ozark
The City of Lake Ozark has put together a long-range plan to have better streets, which includes making sure they have funds in place to perform the work. In June voters passed a use tax question which will allow the city to recover taxes on internet sales, and they passed a $6-million dollar bond question. Lake Ozark Mayor Gerry Murawski tells us that before the city can get the bonds they have to prove they can pay for them…

He said that will pay for a bond of a million dollars which will allow them to get the engineering. For the additional needed funds, the Mayor said a group is also trying to get together a transportation improvement district, which would allow them to put a voter-approved sales tax in place on the strip, and he said there is a chance that they have a slight increase in property tax. With the funding mechanisms in place, Lake Ozark will be able to repair failing streets, including Bagnell Dam Boulevard.
