Stoutland Woman accused of attempting to assault a Law Enforcement Officer

A traffic stop on Friday resulted in felony charges against a woman from Stoutland. When the Camden County Deputy pulled over the vehicle, he spoke with the driver identified as Clourisa Ann Standley, who said that she and her child were out getting milk. She then told the deputy that she was going to a storage unit. When the deputy asked for consent to search her vehicle, Standley said no, and then she was asked to get out of the vehicle, and a K-9 was deployed and allegedly alerted on the vehicle, for the presence of a controlled substance. Another deputy arrived, and Standley was placed in handcuffs. When the deputy attempted to put Standley in the patrol vehicle she allegedly began resisting arrest and became belligerent, screaming and yelling, and attempted to headbutt the deputy. After she was subdued, Standley was taken to jail and during a search was found to be hiding a baggie of methamphetamine in her waistband. She has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, attempted assault and resisting arrest. The child was taken to their father.
