Stolen vehicle and drugs seized following pursuit

Camden County Deputies seized drugs, and a stolen vehicle after an investigation on Tuesday evening. The Deputy attempted to pull over a car in the area of State Road MM and Chimney Point, but the vehicle sped away. When the vehicle stopped in a driveway on Highly Drive, the man and woman in the car jumped out and took off on foot. One of the people was found hiding in a crawl space of a nearby house, and the other was found hiding in a dumpster. 25-year-old Malik DC Scott of Belton and 26-year-old Kabreya M Rogers of Raytown were taken into custody. The investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Independence. When they searched the vehicle they found drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and cocaine. Several keys and garage door openers were seized. Scott and Rogers were both arrested. Rogers for 2 counts of felony possession of a controlled substance. Scott is charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. Both are also being held on several outstanding arrest warrants from Missouri and Kansas.
