STEM-infused classrooms In Waynesville

If your student will be entering grades 3-5 in the 2023-24 school year in the Waynesville School District and likes to ask questions about things or take things apart to see how they work, then your child might enjoy being in a STEM-infused classroom. Previously funded by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), the Waynesville R-VI School District is pleased to announce that the STEM-Infused Multi-grade classroom for students in grades 3-5 will continue to be offered during the 2023-24 school year.
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. Students selected for the program will meet one day a week in a multi-grade classroom, grades 3 through 5, throughout the entire school year. Transportation will be provided to and from the STEM-infused classroom, which is located at Waynesville Middle School.
Registration will close at 3 p.m. on June 30th. A lottery selection will be used and held for each grade level ranging from grades 3-5 from each school/house in the Waynesville R-VI School District with priority given to students who have not previously been enrolled in the STEM program. Students who are enrolled in the Waynesville R-VI School District at the time of the lottery shall be eligible. Parents will be notified prior to the start of the 2023-24 school year. Students should be committed to attending the STEM-Infused classroom for the entire 2023-24 school year. If you are interested in having your student be considered for this program, or have questions, contact Tina Rowden, [email protected], or (573) 842- 2259.
