Stealing and drugs in Texas County

An investigation into a theft on Highway E in Texas County led Deputies to a Licking home. On Sunday, Deputies along Licking Police went to a residence on Kirk Street where they found James Burris the third hiding under a bed. As Burris was being taken into custody, he would found to be in possession of a bag that contained tobacco, marijuana, and a lighter. The 26-year-old was arrested on charges of stealing with a bond of $100-thousand-dollars. An additional charge for prohibited items in the jail is being submitted to the prosecutor. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner.
