Missouri’s unemployment rate is low yet many businesses have “Help Wanted” signs inside of them. Missouri has one of the lowest paid state workforces in the country and the governor is reportedly expected to ask the Legislature next year for a state worker pay increase. Missouri has about 50-thousand state workers. Rowden is expected to be chosen to lead the Senate in the next legislative session.
