St. Robert motorist is being blamed for causing a three-vehicle pileup Wednesday morning in Boone County

A St. Robert motorist driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 63 in Boone County is being blamed for causing a three-vehicle pileup Wednesday morning at 9:22 that resulted in injuries for a Miller County couple. The highway patrol says 58-year-old Dennis M. Kiska of St. Robert was driving his 2021 Toyota Tacoma northbound in the southbound lanes when he came upon a 2013 Chevrolet Captiva, driven by 67-year-old Bob W. Allen of Eldon, followed by a 2019 Chevrolet 2500, driven by 44-year-old Bryan L. Hemmel of Westphalia. Allen attempted to avoid a collision with the Kiska vehicle by steering to the right as the two vehicles met. The front of the Hemmel vehicle struck a tire but was driven to a controlled stop. Bob Allen was seriously injured in the multiple vehicle collisions and taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. His wife, Carolyn Allen, received minor injuries and also was transported by ambulance to University Hospital. Dennis Kiska was cited by the patrol for felony driving while intoxicated, causing serious injuries, and driving in the wrong direction on a divided highway. He was released for medical treatment after being cited.
