Today is St. Patrick’s Day and St. Pat’s celebration events leading up to Saturday’s full day of activities are continuing on the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla.
“Gonzo and Games” and “Gonzo Gives Back” will be taking place tomorrow. Students will participate in volunteer work in the Rolla community Thursday. That evening at 9 o’clock at Leach Theatre, honorary knights from 2020, 2021, and 2022 will be formally vested with their titles and the 2022 St. Pat’s Queen and her court will be announced. The event will be open to the public and free to attend. On Saturday morning, at 8 a-m, the St. Pat’s 5-kilometer and Beer Run will be held. A pre-parade breakfast will be held from 9 to 10:30 outside Hasselmann Alumni House. It will be free and open to the public. The annual St. Pat’s Parade will take place on Pine Street in downtown Rolla at 11 o’clock Saturday morning. From noon to 4 o’clock, a St. Pat’s Grateful Board Festival will take place in downtown Rolla, featuring local vendors and food trucks and the Grateful Dead cover band, The Schwag, performing at the Rolla bandshell. From 6 to 9 o’clock the evening of March 19th, the St. Pat’s Concert on the Havener Lawn will take place, featuring Bea Miller, BabyJake, and Absofacto. A fireworks display will follow.
