Springfield-Green and Christian Counties issue stay at home orders

City and County officials in the Green and Christian County areas have jointly issued a stay at home order which will take effect at 12:01 am March 26th and tentatively will last for 30 days. The announcement tells those city and county residents to stay at home and shelter in place unless they are considered an essential employee. There are some exceptions for those needing essential services such as food and medical services and you will be allowed to exercise outside as long as you observe social distancing. The stay at home order is the result of recent deaths in Springfield related to the Covid-19 virus.
