Several challenges are facing small school districts across the state. In addition to the increasing costs of goods and services, many districts across the state are struggling to find enough human resources to provide basic services. Swedeborg Superintendent, Doug Jacobson, says in addition to having to make some budget cuts this year, they’re also short on staff.

The district nearly had to close the school library due to the lack of a librarian. Superintendent Jacobson says they were able to keep it open due to the generosity of four recent retirees.

Jacobson, and Swedeborg students, greatly appreciate the assistance in being able to keep the school library open.
