We finally started playing better and were about to make it a run rule game, when we let them score 5 runs in the 5th. We finished out strong, however, and brought home the win.
SHELTON CONTINUED “Anytime you get a win, you never want to complain, so we are definitely happy with the result. However, we do understand that we will need to play sharper and more focused every single game, even after a tough loss. The win gave us 3rd Place in this year’s Conference Tournament and puts us at 4-3 on the fall.

In the first Sunday Night Football game of the 2020 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams opened up their new stadium with a 20-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams got pretty much whatever they wanted offensively for much of the evening.

*
Cam Newton’s first game with the Patriots is in the books and with it came a few fireworks. The former league MVP dazzled with his legs, rushing for two scores en route to a 21-11 New England win over the Miami Dolphins.

*
The Indianapolis Colts spent most of the offseason telling everyone why their $25 million investment in quarterback Philip Rivers was going to pay off, touting the “legendary” and “Hall of Fame” talent as a key to their offensive turnaround. And for parts of Sunday’s season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, that seemed plausible. Until crunch time when the 38-year-old Rivers threw his second interception of the game en route to an improbable 27-20 defeat at the hands of arguably the worst-ranked team entering the 2020 campaign.

*
the offensive explosion some were expecting in the TAMPA BAY/NEW ORLEANS matchup DIDN’T HAPPEN, but Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints won their grudge match against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 34-23. Brady struggled in his Bucs debut, as he completed 23 of 36 passes for 239 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
