Shooting leads Manslaughter charge in Benton County

A Warsaw woman will be back in court on January 5th following her arrest for manslaughter on December 22nd. Benton County Deputies responded to a call on “BB” Highway, for a report of a shooting. At the scene, they found 37-year-old Jason Swanson dead from a gunshot wound. 63-year-old Patrica Garvey who lived at the residence that she and Swanson had a scuffle over a 12 gauge shotgun, and the gun went off. Following an investigation by the Missouri Division of Drug and Crime Control, Garvey was arrested on charges of Involuntary Manslaughter and Armed Criminal Action. During a hearing on Monday, Garvey’s bond was reduced from $200-thousand-dollars to $25-thousand-dollars. Her next hearing is set for January 5th.
