It’s going to be another year before the trial of a Miller County woman accused of causing the overdose death of another. Lisa Shockley of Eldon was arrested following an investigation into the death of 54-year-old Charles Weatherford, in July of 2019. Authorities claim that Shockley, who is also known as Lisa Abbett, supplied and injected Weatherford with the Heroin that caused his overdose and death. Shockley is charged with second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance. Shockley is already serving time in prison on unrelated drug charges. Today, a judge granted a continuance this week, and now Shockley’s murder trial has been scheduled to take place May 16, 2022.
