The National Weather Service, in partnership with the State Emergency Management Agency, will be conducting Severe Weather Awareness Week beginning on Monday, March 7th. March 1st is deemed meteorological spring in Missouri, and that brings severe weather season. Much of the severe weather in Missouri is received during the months of March, April, and May, but it can come at any time of the year. National Weather Service Meteorologist, Drew Albert, says the statewide tornado drill will also be conducted next week during Severe Weather Awareness Week……..

Severe Weather Awareness Week is a great time to make sure you have a plan in place on how to survive severe weather outbreaks. More information on Severe Weather Awareness week can be found on the National Weather Service website, and on the State Emergency Management Agency’s website. Albert says severe weather kills a number of Missourians each year.
