Earlier this year, the Waynesville Board of Education named Dr. Hilary Bales, the district’s assistant superintendent of personnel services, to become superintendent of schools on July 1st, when current superintendent, Dr. Brian Henry retires. On Tuesday, the school district announced that Bales’ replacement as assistant superintendent of personnel services will be Dr. Jamie Goforth, the principal of the Waynesville Sixth Grade Center. Goforth will assume that position when Dr. Bales becomes superintendent. Robert Hauck, the assistant principal at the Rolla Middle School, has been selected to become the principal of East Elementary School in Waynesville on July 1st, replacing Renee Hays, who will be retiring. And, Karl Wilking, the district’s director of transportation, will become the RootEd advisor at Waynesville High School on July 1st. In addition, he will oversee transportation discipline for the district. The RootEd advisor position is a new position at W-H-S. Wilking will help individual students with the college application process, encourage technical careers, inform students of military career opportunities, and ensure students have a plan for what they will do following graduation from high school.
