Seven injured, including 5 children in Highway 17 accident

Seven people, including 5 children, were injured in an accident on Highway 17, two miles south of Roby at 8;07 Tuesday night. The Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred when a 2020 Chevrolet Pickup Truck, driven South by 63-year-old Rowland Pearson of Success, Crossed the centerline, and collided Head-on with a 2018 Toyota Sienna, driven north by 31-year-old Heather Copley of Pato. Rowland Pearson was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Heather Copley and 5 children, ages 1 to 10, were taken to area hospitals with moderate injuries.
