A two-vehicle traffic crash on I-44 at the 184-mile marker in Rolla at 10:30 Thursday night has resulted in serious injuries for one motorist and moderate injuries for another two motorists.
According to the highway patrol, the injuries occurred when a 2015 Volvo conventional truck being driven westward on the interstate by 69-year-old Atseko Tsatenawa of San Antonio, Texas, left the roadway, crossed the median, and overturned in the eastbound lanes. His towed truck was struck by a 2021 Freightliner conventional truck, driven by 45-year-old Ergash Kholmuratov of Brooklyn, New York. A passenger in the Tsatenawa vehicle, 42-year-old Manual Nkogo, was seriously injured and transported for treatment by Phelps Health Air to University Hospital in Columbia. Tsatenawa was moderately injured and taken by Phelps Health ambulance to Phelps Health in Rolla. Kholmuratov also was taken to Phelps Health in Rolla for treatment of moderate injuries.
