Senate Work Held Up By Filibuster

On Thursday, business in the Missouri Senate was held up because of a filibuster from Republican Senator Rick Brattin, whose bill was held up in a separate filibuster the day before. It could have affected the budget that needs to be passed by this evening at 6PM. His bill is designed to prevent a landfill from being built in Raymore near Kansas City. The filibuster lasted until 5PM, when a forced 2-hour recess resulted in its conclusion. It could be brought up again on the Senate floor before the close of Session next Friday.
