Missouri Senate Leader Cindy O’Laughlin says the Republicans are united on a gender transition bill. Her comment follows the upper chamber adjourning for Spring Break a day early without voting on the bill.

Democrats stalled a vote for two days on the bill that would charge doctors and health care providers with child abuse for ‘coercing’ anyone under 18-years-old to undergo a gender transition. Kansas City Democratic Senator Greg Razer says the bill is traumatizing to the transgender community and says he does not want to make medical decisions for children. It’s unclear as to what compromise can be negotiated on the bill, but O’Laughlin makes clear that a procedural move to end debate and force a vote will not happen.
