Senate Chair Disappointed in High Court
The Missouri Supreme Court has issued a unanimous decision that upholds Medicaid expansion and rejects arguments by lawmakers that the voter-approved ballot measure violated the state Constitution. The Missouri Supreme Court overturned the earlier ruling from Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem. The Supreme Court says August’s Amendment Two is constitutional, stating it doesn’t remove the Legislature’s discretion in appropriating money to MO HealthNet.
