Senate Bill for Community Crime Reduction

A Missouri Senate Bill that could be used to provide funding for Municipal Police Departments, is waiting for a hearing in committee. Senate Bill 730 would establish a pilot program known as the Community Crime Reduction Grant Program” and could be used to help with cost of employing new officers, to pay for attendance to a seminar on fair and impartial policing and one on racial sensitivity. Senate Bill 730 requires municipal police departments that receive a grant to submit an annual report to the Department of Public Safety on or before December 31st of each year in which the department received the grant money.
