The search is on for a giant Christmas tree to put on the Governor’s Mansion lawn in Jefferson City. The tree must be a native species to Missouri – a Norway spruce, white pine, or eastern red cedar and be at least 35 to 40 feet tall. Holly Dentner with the Missouri Department of Conservation says the agency asks the public to consider donating their tree.

The tree must have full branches on all sides and be accessible for large equipment to cut down and haul. You can send pictures of your tree and email them by October 4 to [email protected].
