Says he needed money for cigarettes

A Lebanon man was issued a citation to appear in court for tampering, after he was accused of breaking into the vacuum machines at a car wash in the 600 block of North Jefferson in Lebanon on Friday.   According to the police report, an employee arrived at the business and noticed damage. Security video showed a man going up to the machines and forcing all 6 of them open. The man who matched the video was arrested later in the morning, when he was spotted walking on West Elm. He told police he had broken into the vacuum machines because he was broke and needed cigarettes and was looking for change. He also said that he had planned to go back and fix the damage he had done, he just had not made it back there yet to fix it. He was given a citation with a court date of October 10th.
