Salem Man Arrested in Columbia

A 37-year old Salem man has been taken into custody by members of the Columbia Police Department. James Hanks Junior faces charges of first-degree robbery. Hanks is accused of threatening an employee of a Walmart Supercenter on Conley Road in Columbia on April 29th. Hanks was arrested on an unrelated warrant on May 4th and later identified as the suspect in the attempted robbery. Bond for Hanks has been denied, and he is being held in the Boone County Jail.
