Saint James Man Facing Murder Charges
Authorities in Phelps County have successfully apprehended a wanted individual in connection with a stabbing incident in St. James. One of the two victims succumbed to his injuries.
33-year-old Joseph Duane Snow, of St. James is now facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, relating to the death of Luke Moreland.
The incident unfolded when officers received a distress call around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, prompting a response to a residence in the 600 block of Saint David Street. Upon arriving at the scene, investigators discovered that Luke Moreland had sustained several stab wounds, which proved fatal. Another individual involved in the altercation suffered multiple stab wounds but survived the attack.
During their investigation, authorities learned that Joseph Duane Snow had confessed to his involvement in the incident. The confrontation leading to the tragic event is believed to stem from an altercation between the three men.
