Ruth originally knew J. Pat Kennedy in High School. Years later they reconnected when Pat was visiting Humansville from Alaska and were married April 15, 1996. They shared almost 22 years together before Pat’s passing April 17, 2018.

She enjoyed a wide variety of work experiences. She operated a dry-cleaning shop in Humansville. Was a telephone operator back in the days when you had to plug in cables to connect people. A waitress at the R&S Cafe. Two of her favorites were school bus driver for the Humansville school and a teaching assistant at the Weaubleau school.

She exhibited art skills from a young age that included pencil and chalk drawings. She loved her cats and dogs. Gardening and cooking were also beloved hobbies. The flowerbeds around the house were always spectacular, and delicious made-from-scratch pies and candy were a regular treat. The coconut cream and custard pies were always top hits at family gatherings.

After retirement Ruth and Pat were also able to enjoy travels to Alaska and Florida, as well as time spent in their secluded country home near Humansville.
