Rural fire departments have been responding to a number of natural cover fires, some of which have spread to structures causing damage. Even though there was a good amount of rain over the weekend, leaves are falling and vegetation is dry which can cause a fire to spread quickly. Lebanon Rural Fire Chief Phillip Pitts reminds everyone to remove vegetation away from your home.

Before doing any outdoor burning make sure that conditions are right, and that you have the right tools available to stop a fire from spreading.
