(Rolla)–The 26th annual Route 66 Summerfest will begin this afternoon in Phelps County with a Cruise-In of classic cars, custom cars, and motorcycles. The vehicles will gather at the St. James Visitors’ Center from 4 to 6 o’clock. Cars will begin to line up at 5:45 and cruise to the Rolla Festival lots in downtown Rolla. Live entertainment will take place this evening and Saturday afternoon at the food court. On Saturday night, there will be a free street dance, featuring Travis Dean and the Highway 39 Band, who are currently performing in Branson.
Tomorrow’s activities include the annual Tour de Phelps Leisurely Bike Ride, starting at 8:15 a.m. at the Matt’s Steakhouse parking lot…music in the food court from noon to three, featuring “After K-Shon”…a Crazy Funny Dog Show at noon…and a free street dance at 7:30.
