Ronald “Buck” Doyle Filloon, son of the late Doyle and Mildred (Stanzel) Filloon, was born on September 15, 1952, in Lake City, IA and departed this life on June 27, 2024, in Springfield, MO. At the time of his passing, he was 71 years, nine months, and 11 days of age.

Buck was raised and attended school in Lake City, IA. His love for family and hard work started at a very young age when his father passed away early in Buck’s life and Buck was left to take care of his mother and sisters. Once he reached adulthood, Buck moved to Missouri and started a family. He worked for a short time in construction before moving his family to Springfield, MO to work at AWG. Buck decided to move back to Urbana and take over the family water well business and ran it for several years. After selling the water well business, he went to work as a bus driver and helper at the alternative school. Most recently he owned a kettle corn and pork rind business. He was never afraid of work and instilled in his family the value of hard work. Buck was a founding member of Prairie Chapel Church and served as a youth group leader for many years. Buck’s passion for children, especially those with a troubled past, helped him change the lives of many students at the alternative school. He also touched the lives of many of the children he had on his bus route. Buck volunteered as Santa Clause in the Urbana Christmas parade for many years, and always amazed the children with knowing all about them and where they lived because of his community knowledge from the Water Well business. In his free time, Buck spent many hours on the golf course or watching his beloved Kansas City Chiefs and Iowa Hawkeyes play football.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Ryan & wife Jayme Filloon of Bolivar, MO; two granddaughters, Delaney and McKenna Filloon; and four sisters, Marge & husband Jim Hicks, Sheryl Dowling, Suzanne Stephenson, and Deb Filloon. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family members, and many friends who will all truly miss him.
