(Rolla)–Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Rolla Police Department will be hosting the 6th annual Polar Plunge and 3rd annual Polar Bear Strut in Rolla on March 2nd. All proceeds from these events will benefit the Special Olympics of Missouri. This year’s goal is to attract 200 plungers and to raise 33-thousand dollars.
There is no age limit to participate in the 5-kilometer Strut. However, the Polar Plunge is open to anyone ten years or older. Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $75 to participate in the Polar Plunge. The Strut minimum is $50. All participants will receive an official commemorative shirt and be eligible to win other fundraising prizes.
Both events will take place at Fugitive Beach on March 2nd. Strut Registration will begin at 8 a-m, with the Strut starting at 9 a-m. The Plunge will start promptly at 12:30 p-m.
