A Rolla man is facing charges including armed criminal action after shooting at a Rolla Police Officer. According to the report, an officer attempted to pull over a car that was a suspect vehicle in a theft earlier in the day on Monday. The driver pulled over in the area of Vienna Road and the officer observed the suspected thief in the back seat. The same man jumped out and took off running. The officer attempted to stop him by using his taser, after which the suspect pulled a pistol and shot at the officer, who returned fire. The suspect then ran into a backyard, where he was cornered by Police officers. 41-year-old Eric Hollingsworth of Rolla was jailed with charges of resisting arrest, first-degree assault, and armed criminal action.
