Richland School asks for levy increase

Patron’s of the Richlard R-4 School District will be deciding on a tax levy increase during a Special Election in August. The district, which has just under 300 students, is asking for an additional 30 cent levy a year for the next 3 years, for a total of 90 cents per hundred dollars assessed valuation. Turner said if the additional levy is approved it will help Richland be more competitive with other school districts…
If approved, the tax levy increase will bring in an additional $114-thousand in the first year, $228-thousand for the second year, and $342-thousand at the third year and going forward.
Beginning in 2025 the tax levy for those who live in the Richland School District will be $3.95 per hundred dollars assessed valuation.
